Four-wheel drive vehicles are mechanically engineered to maximize the vehicle's power at all four wheels. This allows for more control over surfaces and driving conditions that may not be ideal.
Because they offer certain advantages over conventional two-wheel-drive vehicles, four-wheel drive caravans have become more popular in the past few years.

Although four of these systems are more common on larger off-road vehicles. Simply put, a vehicle with four drivers will produce more power. This transforms the force into motion and allows the vehicle to traverse road conditions not suitable for standard two-drive vehicles. This is especially useful in slippery or rugged conditions where a standard two-drive vehicle might fail.
Four-drive systems are able to handle any terrain or driving conditions that would make a standard two-wheel drive vehicle lose traction. A four-drive system allows for two vehicles to lose traction but the other two can keep it going, allowing them to make up the difference.
Technically speaking, there are some differences between the standard four-wheel drive and the all-drive. An all-wheel-drive has constant power to all four wheels and no need to turn off two. A standard four-wheel drive has the option to turn off two of them, while an all-system has constant power to all four.
The normal four-drive system is often found on SUVs and pickup trucks. They are able to turn it off on commuter roads, then activate them when they travel off-road. This is different from the small passenger cars equipped with all-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive is activated continuously and allows for more grip on the roads.
